Merry Christmas!

I know, I haven’t posted about my dollhouse in several weeks. Late November and December are busy months for me (as I’m sure they are for everyone!). I work as Director of Children and Family Ministries for a Methodist Church, so it’s extra busy. The time is filled with wonderful things: church holiday bazaars, gift making and cookie decorating events, Christmas Pageant rehearsals and performance, and preparing for Christmas Eve Services. On top of that, I made several gifts for family and friends. That’s one of my favorite parts of Christmas; the gift making and the gift giving. I made it a priority this year to dedicate more time to that. I thought I would share some of the creations I made, not only because I had so much fun making them, but also as proof of why I didn’t get to blogging about the dollhouse.

I did ask for some things for my dollhouse this Christmas and though I didn’t find anything under the tree, I did receive a coupon for “A Trip to the Dollhouse Store.” I am looking forward to picking out some things for the dollhouse and looking forward to getting back to blogging. See you again soon and Merry Christmas everyone!

  1. Tricia, I too have been making gifts crafts, jewelry, hair fascinators, etc…I’m wondering if you’d like to do a surprise gift exchange with me. I’ll make a thing or two that remind me of you and you do the same and we’ll send them. What do you think? I still have the little dollhouse items too, sorry I’ve delayed getting them to you, but it sounds like you haven’t had the time lately anyway. I was reading and thinking how interesting it is that you are heavily involved in children’s ministries at your church. Me too as it happens, I also finally this past year joined our worship team as a vocalist. Something I’ve long wanted to do and needed a push toward. I’ve loved it! Our church is coming to a close, for many reasons and I’m really hoping I won’t lose momentum as we move on and forward. Please keep us in your prayers and let me know if there’s anything specific I can be praying for you. Love and Happy New Year! I can’t wait to see the new additions to your dollhouse soon. 2. Hi Nan! A surprise exchange sounds fun. I’ll have to see what I’m inspired to do, I already have an idea, but I’m not telling 😉 I’ll be praying for your upcoming transition. Funny, I’ve joined the church choir as well in the past year or so and have actually done some solos at church, once with my brother on guitar (when he visited) and a few times with our pianist. I’ve taken the songs I’ve learned and sung them for a Christmas sing-along at Magnus’ school and once for open-mic night at the local pub. Scary but fun! I get so nervous beforehand. My most recent solo was a the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service – “Still, Still, Still,” an Austrian Christmas carol in German. I’ll see if I can send you the video file. Hmmm, prayer request: my work with the church is part-time. I often find other little things to add to that to bring more income in, but it’s tricky. I have made it a priority to be home when Magnus is done with school, so it limits my availability. I really want to earn money doing something creative on my own time, perhaps selling some of the things I make or helping people with their dollhouses. Pray for guidance, open doors, and open ears, eyes and heart for me 🙂 Thanks and love to you! Tricia
